SAML
SynXis Booking Engine (SBE) enables single sign-on (SSO) capabilities through the SAML 2.0 protocol. We support a Service Provider (SP), an Identity Provider (IdP), and a Brand-Site initiated flow.
SP Initiated Flow
- A guest currently on a SynXis Booking Engine page can initiate login to a hotel chain’s pre-configured Identity Provider. The guest will then be redirected and asked to provide their credentials with the IdP; after credentials are validated the guest ends up back in the Booking Engine page in a logged-in state.
IP Initiated Flow
- A guest that is already logged in to an Identity Provider can initiate a login into SynXis Booking Engine from the IdP portal. This requires that the IdP supports this configuration.
Brand-Site Initiated Flow
- A guest on the brand website (i.e brand.com) is shown a link to SynXis Booking Engine Page. In the event that the guest is already logged-in to the brand website (using the same IdP), then the optimal user experience is that guest also lands on the SBE property site in a logged-in state. This flow requires development changes in the brand website. If this flow is not implemented, then the experience will be that the guest will have to click login in the SBE Property page (Although not required to re-enter their passwords since a session already exists with the identity provider).
